Computing Suites

Personal computers are available for use by individuals or groups for training or research purposes including full Internet access. The main suite housing 10 computers also offers access to interactive whiteboard software known as a ‘SMART Board’. This exciting and up to-the-minute technology allows the tutor to:

• Collaborate on electronic documents in front of a group.
• Write, draw or type over any Windows application with a SMART Pen Tray pen, and then capture an image of the annotation.
• Create and edit a wide variety of annotation objects with either the Pen Tray pens or SMART Notebook commands.
• Import information from almost any electronic source into SMART Notebook.
• Save, print or e-mail a complete record of everything written, drawn or typed into SMART Notebook.

Use of the SMART Board as a training tool opens up a level of interaction between tutor and students previously not possible in traditional ICT training.
